Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Are biothane muzzles bite proof?

Biothane muzzles are not considered bite proof, similar to Baskervilles. However, their effectiveness depends on your dog and their bite intent. Factors to consider:

  • A well-fitting muzzle is preferable to an ill-fitting one that could come off during a reaction.
  • Smaller dogs have a harder time biting through the material, making the muzzle even more effective for them.

How do I purchase a custom muzzle?

There are a couple ways to purchase a custom muzzle. The easiest is by using this link here.

What happens if the muzzle doesn't fit?

We take great care to ensure the proper fit of our muzzles by closely examining pictures and asking follow-up questions when necessary. Additionally, we re-measure the muzzle after completion to ensure it matches the specified measurements.

However, if the muzzle doesn't fit as expected, please reach out to us at tyedyemuzzles@gmail.com with some pictures of the muzzle on your dog, if possible. We will work with you to find the best solution.

In most cases, the muzzle may just need some adjustments, which can be made by removing the screws on the sides of the muzzle straps. For more details, refer to our adjustment page.

When will I get it? Can you do a rush order?

Our typical processing time from order to final product is approximately 2-3 business days. However, this timeframe may be extended if we are missing measurements or need to double-check something that seems off.

We understand that sometimes you may need your order sooner, and we offer rush orders at no additional charge. If you require a rush order, please reach out to us to let us know.

Can you make the treat hole bigger?

The treat holes on our muzzles serve a dual purpose: to allow your dog to enjoy treats while also ensuring safety.

Muzzles are designed to keep things in (like your dog's mouth) and keep things out (such as items they shouldn't ingest). It's a delicate balance between providing access to treats and maintaining safety.

We understand that in the UK, some dogs wear muzzles due to legal requirements. When fulfilling orders, we aim to accommodate this by adjusting the treat hole size accordingly. However, it's essential to strike a balance—while we want to ensure your dog can enjoy treats, we also prioritize compliance with legal regulations to avoid any potential fines.

A screw fell out of my muzzle, what should I do?

A few things to note here:

We've upgraded our screws since we originally started making muzzles. If you purchased prior to February 2024, you might have some older screws which we were finding were coming loose. We are finding that the updated screws stay in place much much better.

We include 2 sets of extra screws with each muzzle. You can purchase extra screws on Amazon by looking up "Chicago screws M5X5"

We do recommend super gluing screws in place once you are happy with the fit. This is the best way to ensure that they stay for good!
